This project included the development
of third-generation all-weather pitches
at Rugby Town FC's Butlin Road ground.
"Our
new facility is a wonderful development
- not only for our football club,
but also for the whole community
of Rugby."
RTFC
director Mike Yeats
The facility included two fully-floodlit
rubber-crumb pitches with a new road accessing
the playing areas and parking areas outside
the pitches.
The development involved the re-grading
of a steep incline into two flat areas before
drainage could be installed. The state-of-the-art
sports surface requires careful installation
and maintenance to give natural ball behaviour
and surrounding fences with kick-boards
ensure that the facility is secure.

Symon took on the task of constructing
this fantastic 500-seater cantilever stand
for Rugby Town FC in late 2002.
The project included the construction
of the stand - with wheelchair access, as
well as changing, physio and office facilities
underneath the stand.
The stand was completed in January 2003
but it wasn't until later in the year that
it was officially opened by then England
International Darius Vassell with Rugby
hosting Aston Villa in a pre-season friendly.
The stand was part of the 'Most Improved
Ground' awards for Rugby in the National
Non-League Paper Awards in 2004.

This covered terrace spans right
along the width of the pitch at Rugby Town
FC's Butlin Road ground and has an impressive
capacity of 1,300 fans.
The project involved the removal of conifers
and the old small covered area to be replaced
by a 66m spanning cantilever covered standing
area.
The design had to cater for the awkward
boundaries to the ground while the terracing
was carefully designed to ensure the maximum
capacity as well as keeping the design to
sports stadia guidelines.
The development also included the construction
of boundary walls around the perimeter of
the stadium.
