Project Cost: £261k
Completion Date: April 2015
The construction of five new classrooms within a courtyard setting with tight programme to accommodate increase in pupil numbers . The project had a strict completion date for the start of the new scholastic year and was turned round in just 12 weeks using a timber framed design on traditional foundations with beam & block ground floor and “dry floor” construction to alleviate drying out times.
The project was commenced with the school still in operation. This meant that materials and labour had to access site via a bridge built over the existing single storey English block with site cranage at weekends. The spoil from the excavations within the courtyard was removed in the holiday period via a conveyor system through the school.
