Symon offer a collaborative, integrated and transparent construction approach with strong project management expertise. Most of our project teams are directly employed by us which ensures we have full control over project delivery and that best practice and construction intelligence is always shared.
We work day in, day out with our own workforce as well as specialist sub-contractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, building control officers and clerks of work to ensure a smooth construction phase.
Once you are happy with our quotation or tender we will provide you with a project breakdown so you can see where the building costs are incurred and this document will form the basis of the contract. For contract work we will normally work from client-provided drawings – any unforeseen changes, variations or savings will then be added or omitted from this breakdown as the contract continues.
We will normally organise a pre-commencement meeting to run through how the construction process will work, answer any questions and iron out any creases. We will issue a programme of works with a completion date so you should know exactly where you are as the project develops.
Symon have worked with clients on a one-on-one basis, under an architect-supervised project or as part of a management team to deliver an efficient and cost-effective construction project.
Whether you are at the feasibility stage or if you have all of your architect’s or designer’s drawings and specifications, we can meet with you at your convenience to run through the project and provide you with a competitive price using our quality workmanship and materials. With our quotation will can produce a breakdown so that you can make the project work for your needs.
Our buildings and maintenance projects normally are less than six weeks in duration so we would normally complete our works in full before an invoice is raised. Once you are satisfied that all of the work is completed we would expect payment within 7 days of the project being completed and would look forward to working with you again in the near future.

Commercial contracts are often carried out over a number of weeks or months so will require monthly valuations. Due to the value and length of the contract, it always makes sense to agree to interim valuations before the project is completed. We submit valuations at agreed intervals (usually 4-weekly) for the client or Contract Administrator’s approval – payment will be made only when you as the customer are completely happy with the valuation. A percentage completion is completed to each element of the build. Payments terms are normally seven days from date of valuation or those ruled by the contract.

Once you are satisfied that all of the work is completed and the account is as it should be the contract is finished and we would look forward to working with you again in the near future! Some contracts include for a defects period and this can be applied as per the contract conditions.
