Our Construction Services
Symon offer a complete and professional service, when required by our clients, using the many skills of our strong management team and locally-employed workforce. This includes all building trades from groundworkers to carpenters, bricklayers, roofers, plasterers as well as any design and build works, electrical works and gas and plumbing works. Symon are also members of the National House Builders Confederation, have Constructionline & CHAS accreditation and work to the international quality standard, ISO9001. Our workforce is fully CRB-checked and we are always keen to provide for our staff’s training and development needs including any appropriate health & safety, first aid or operation-based training schemes.
We work day in, day out with our own workforce as well as specialist sub-contractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, building control officers and clerks of work to ensure a smooth construction phase.
Pricing, Tenders & Quotations
Whether you are at the feasibility stage or if you have all of your architect’s or designer’s drawings and specifications, we can meet with you at your convenience to run through the project and provide you with a competitive price using our quality workmanship and materials. With our quotation we can produce a breakdown so that you can make the project work for your needs.
Design & Planning Permission
For our buildings and maintenance division, we offer a design and planning permission service. Our design & planning department can produce CAD drawings and obtain planning permission if required to give your project the green light.
Completion & Payment
Our buildings and maintenance projects normally are less than six weeks in duration so we would normally complete our works in full before an invoice is raised. Once you are satisfied that all of the work is completed we would expect payment within 7 days of the project being completed and would look forward to working with you again in the near future.
Before Construction
Once you are happy with our quotation or tender, we will normally organise a pre-commencement meeting to run through how the construction process will work, answer any questions and iron out any creases. On most of our buildings & maintenance projects we will work directly with the customer.
After Completion
We have been around for 30 years and we intend to be around for another 30 years and more and this should give you the peace of mind to know that we will be there should a problem arise after we have finished.
During Construction
During the construction process you will have a designated project manager and possibly site foreman who will look after your needs. You will have contact details for your designated contact as well as those for the office in case of an emergency. We will look after all parts of the building process so you should have nothing to worry about – including co-ordinating all of the labour, materials and plant requirements as well as any specialist sub-contractors.
Whether you are a home owner or have a business to keep running, during construction we endeavour to cause as little disruption as possible and keep things running as best as we can to your needs. By its very nature, building work can be intrusive and noisy but we have worked in hundreds of locations over the years, keeping things ticking over for you as best we can – whether that means temporary installations to keep your hot water going or a temporary kitchen while your new one is being installed.
